Discounted Nonprofit Pricing2020-04-21T18:13:31+00:00

Our Nibble Netwrx commitment is to help business and nonprofits grow.  Nonprofits in particular have a unique set of rules to follow.  We understand most non profits work on a shoe string budget as the result of tireless efforts to touch as many people as possible with your mission.  Usually this means a shoe string budget, strict guidelines on how money can be spent and how often it is available.

Let us donate to your cause.  Contact a Nibble Netwrx Operative and we will work to verify your non-profit status and based on financial availability provide you a discounted service cost.

Fair Usage pricing with VoIP2020-04-20T14:50:51+00:00

When a company offers a package with set usages they do so knowing that almost all clients will use less.  Otherwise the offering would lose money and make no profit.  In VoIP this comes in the form of unlimited minutes.  Nibble Netwrx have chosen to go a different way.  We pass along the usage costs to the client based on their individual consumption.  Many are fearful of the usage cost as an unknown varying rate but in our 16 years of experience this is always a benefit and never a burden.  Reach out to Nibble Netwrx and let us discuss your telephony business details.

Our commitment to uncomplicated package pricing (and secrets to comparing)2020-04-20T14:51:39+00:00

We often get questions about pricing… why are your prices more expensive than Acme Web Hosting (fill in a name here).  We like to know we are competitive in the market.  Our value is not found in offering cheapest services but also in the overall product we sell.  We will never get into a conversation comparing Nibble Netwrx packages to the other guys.  You will notice our pricing is more straight forward with no long term contracts hiding a discount.  The key to most companies promotional offering is to give you a really good rate the first 12 months then pop the cost up by 20% to 70% in the 2nd 12 month term.  The competitors hope that after the first year the price increase is not enough for you to consider the complicated move it may take to get a better price elsewhere.  We like to call this a “bait and switch”.

Check the pricing month to month of all companies before you buy.   You will find that we are likely as competitive as we say we are!  We do offer discounts for longer term plans we just don’t hide our monthly costs behind long terms of service.

What hardware do Nibble Netwrx servers run on?2020-04-20T14:52:08+00:00

Nibble Netwrx uses different Intel Xeon based Dell server chassis’s for our network infrastructure.  The servers are setup in either a Raid10 or Raid1 depending on the number of drives and setups.

What is the major difference between a shared hosting account and linux reseller account?2020-04-20T14:52:55+00:00

The major difference between a shared hosting account and a linux reseller account is access to the Web Host Management (WHM) software.

Learn more about the benefits of cPanel and WHM.

In addition the Linux Reseller Account includes modified root access.  Modified root access means you have more control over accounts than a shared server would have.

What is the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?2020-04-08T04:00:51+00:00

The major difference between IPv4 and IPv6 is how many addresses are available.  IPv4 is still used by 99% of the servers in the world.

What is SSL?2020-04-08T04:01:46+00:00

SSL is a Secure Socket Layer, a standard security technology.

SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate is a standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a server and a client—typically a web server (website) and a browser; or a mail server and a mail client (e.g., Outlook).

SSL allows sensitive information such as credit card numbers, social security numbers, and login credentials to be transmitted securely. Normally, data sent between browsers and web servers is sent in plain text—leaving you vulnerable to eavesdropping. If an attacker is able to intercept all data being sent between a browser and a web server they can see and use that information.

More specifically, SSL is a security protocol. Protocols describe how algorithms should be used; in this case, the SSL protocol determines variables of the encryption for both the link and the data being transmitted.

SSL secures millions of peoples’ data on the Internet every day, especially during online transactions or when transmitting confidential information. Internet users have come to associate their online security with the lock icon that comes with an SSL-secured website or green address bar that comes with an extended validation SSL-secured website. SSL-secured websites also begin with https rather than http.

What are the different types of SSL certificates?2020-04-08T04:03:14+00:00

There are three main types of SSL Certificates.  (Secure Socket Layer) Standard, Organizational and Extended Validation.  Each one of these three types can be combined with a Wildcard or Unified Communication SSL or Multi-Domain SSL Certificates (SANs – Subject Alternative Names) service.

Standard SSL

Secures single Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN)

What is it?
A domain validated SSL certificate is given out after a short check by e-mail of the applicant’s reliability. The applicant has to have access to an e-mail address that is connected to the domain name, like for instance support@domainname.com. This way it is possible to check if the applicant is really the owner of the domain name for wich he has requested the certificate.

What are the advantages?
A domain validated SSL certificate is inexpensive and is given out quickly, mostly within only a few minutes.

What are the disadvantages?
Because the check is only minimal, a domain validated SSL certificate does not really give a proper guarantee to your visitor that your website is completely reliable.

When is this is a good choice?
If you only need a SSL certificate for the protection of your data transmissions, and there is no need to persuade your visitors to commit some sort of action (like buying one of your products), then a domain validated SSL certificate will give you the protection that you need.

Organization SSL

Secures single Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN). It contains your authenticated Organization details. Can be combined with a Wildcard and Unified Communication (SAN) SSL.

What is it?
An organization validated SSL certificate is given out after an identity-check of the organization that has requested the certificate by checking the official registration papers of the organization. The visitor of the site can see in the certificate which organization has requested it.

What are the advantages?
An organization validated SSL certificate gives the possibility for visitors to check which organization is behind a website.

What are the disadvantages?
An organization validated SSL certificate has a longer delivery time of 1 to 4 work day(s).

When is this a good choice?
When visitors of your website need to be persuaded to commit an action, like registering, leaving behind their contact information or buying a product, an organization validated SSL certificate can help to convince them.

Extended Validation SSL

Secures a single Fully Qualified Domain Name

What is it?
A SSL certificate with EV (Extended Validation) is only given out after an extensive check of the applicant’s identity and reliability. Once a website is protected by an extended validated SSL certificate, the address field in the internet browser gets a green color everytime a visitor visits the site.

What are the advantages?
A SSL certificate with EV gives a 100% guarantee that a website is reliable and safe, made visible by the green address field in the internet browser.

What are the disadvantages?
Extended validated SSL certificated belong to the highest price range in SSL certificates and come with a long delivery time of 1 to 2 weeks.

When is this a good choice?
As soon as financial or personal data are sent from and to your website, a SSL certificate with EV is essential. The visitor can only be certain that his data is treated safely with an extended validated SSL certificate. Especially for webshops this will lead to a significant increase in sales, that amply pays back your investment.

What kind of drives are used on the VPS servers?2019-06-26T16:10:33+00:00

All of our VPS servers at NibbleNetwrx are built using state of the art Solid State Drives (SSD’s) this allows for the maximum speed (read and write) possible. Combined with a Raid 10 setup this increases I/O performance by more than a multiple of 10 compared to standard platter drives.

Why would I need a dedicated IP?2019-06-18T14:44:37+00:00

A dedicated IP is required if you require an SSL Certificate

Can I get a dedicated IP?2019-06-18T14:44:21+00:00

During the purchase of your package you will have an option to choose a shared IP or a Dedicated IP. The cost is $4.99 for this upgrade.

What is SSD and why is it important?2019-06-18T14:43:57+00:00

A solid-state drive (SSD), also known as a is solid-state disk is a solid state storage device that uses integrated circuit assemblies as memory to store data persistantly. SSD technology primarily uses electronic interfaces compatible with traditional block input/output (I/O) hard disk drives (HDDs), which permit simple replacements in common applications. SSD drives have no moving parts and run much more efficiantly than standard HDD’s. This allows for less power consumption and cooler operating temperatures. Benefits to end user of SSD drives are the use of NAND based flash memory incorporated into the drive. This is a non-volitile memory that retains all data when power is lost unlike Random Access Memory (RAM) which buffers and stores data as needed but is lost when the power is cycled or shut off. SSD’s compared to Standard HDD Drives boast up to 30% faster read speeds and and copy and write speeds anywhere from 200 – 500 Mb/s. SSD dirves are also built to run a minimun of 2 million hours and a standard hard drive May run half of that, slightly more in perfect operating atmosphere/conditions.

Unlimited? Really No Limitations?2019-06-18T14:43:11+00:00

This plan is for standard website hosting. In order to ensure resource availability to all clients hosted on our shared servers, media hosting / file sharing is not permitted with this plan although we do have other plans which can support media hosting and file sharing here.

What kind of drives are used on the VPS servers?2019-06-15T21:57:47+00:00

All of our VPS servers at NibbleNetwrx are built using state of the art Solid State Drives (SSD’s) this allows for the maximum speed (read and write) possible. Combined with a Raid 10 setup this increases I/O performance by more than a multiple of 10 compared to standard platter drives.

Can I get an SSL certificate to cover all my sites on my account?2019-06-15T21:57:14+00:00

No, one SSL certification will not cover all the domains on a server.  We do offer a SSL certification that will cover all sub-domains of a domain.

To answer this question it is important to understand how your websites are set up and how SSL Certifications work.

If each site is set up as their own domain (Examples: www.domainname.com   www.mydomain2.com) each site would need their own SSL Cert.
If each site is set up as a sub-domain (example: billing.domainname.com, support.domainname.com, www.domainname.com) the site and all sub-domains could be covered by one SSL Cert.

Can I install any application I want to?2019-06-15T21:56:38+00:00

Yes, you can install any applications that are compatiable that are supported by your OS.  However, our management / support does not cover support for 3rd party software. Be aware of all other software requirements before installing or upgrading software that may be dependant on another this may result in adverse affects to your site.

What is RAID 10?2019-06-15T21:56:15+00:00

RAID 10, also known as RAID 1+0, combines disk mirroring to protect data and disk striping to create a larger array of data. A RAID 10 configuration requires a minimum of four disks, and stripes data across mirrored pairs. As long as one disk in each mirrored pair is functional, data can be retrieved.

What is RAID and why is it so good?2020-04-17T15:52:31+00:00

RAID (redundant array of independent disks)  provides a way of storing the same data in different places (thus, redundantly) on multiple hard disks. This is good for several reasons. Most obvious is that it allows for all data to be safely copied and backed up in case of hardware failure. The other benefit is that during a read on a RAID array you should see a significant increase in speed in recalling data over that of single drive performance.

How many IP’s can I have?2019-06-15T21:56:02+00:00

Each Package comes with a set amount ot IP’s as outlined on the website. If more are needed we will be more than happy to assist. If larger than a basic /29 an IP justification from may be neccessary before allocation.  All additional IP’s are charged at a monthly rate and this will be reflected on the following billing cycle.

How many sites can I host?2019-06-15T21:55:49+00:00

The number of sites a package can hold depends on the package size and the size of the websites.

The number of sites on any package depends on the sizes of the site and the resources of the package. For example a server can have 4GB of space and hold 4 sites of 1GB each.  Or the server could have 500 sites of 40MB each.
